Our History

It was born from the idea of a group of friends whose lives have been marked by a shared characteristic, the need to overcome the difficulties that everyday life presents, by means of our dedication to work, honesty, humility and support from our families, all of them tenets in which we believe despite all odds.
This story began when Mariano, a friend of us, invited us to see a place that was different, quiet and hardly known. One of us started the adventure and set to see the place with the sole objective of helping Mariano and his family in a project oriented towards building their own restaurant, "El viejo Marino".
During the trip to this place it was hard to imagine what would unfold later on. As soon as the last stretch of the road began, along a rustic road, among countryside, farms and lagoons, the uncertainty was great but, suddenly, we started to feel inside of us something difficult to explain. We felt real peace; we had arrived to Reta, a wonderful and magical place where the feeling of true freedom runs through the veins. Its roads without asphalt, pure air, extensive dunes, the sea and its people transform you, something happens in your head that is hard to understand, something really strong.
When we started the way back we could hardly wait to tell our friends as soon as possible what we had felt at Reta, what we had seen, a place in which simplicity, harmony with nature, away from the noise of the city and the feeling of peace and freedom, exists at its finest. Incredibly, almost as a signal or a drive, after I told my friends about what I felt at Reta, one of them and his wife started their holidays along the same route that passed by there.
He decided to immediately stop by and see the place. When they came back we were eager to know how they had felt about it, so we got together. As soon as we saw each other and without saying a single word, we all knew we had felt the same; that place was meant for us. Such an impact had we felt that on that very same day and without a doubt we made an advance payment for two plots located just some one hundred yards from the sea. Hardly knowing what was happening and without realizing it, we had started the road towards our shared dream. Not really understanding why, this place, a piece of land, mounds of sand and cortaderas (pampas grass) which had been growing unchecked for years, with nothing but nature around it, we felt it was special for us and our families.

The road leading to this dream was not easy, as difficulties waited along the way. Lack of money, our own limitations and fears, all threatened this project.

Nevertheless, we strove and realized that our families shared our goal; to have a place where work, honesty, humility and family life are values to be held against all odds. After a lot of time, sacrifice and difficulties we have achieved it, our dream has materialized and it’s called La Cossa Nostra, Un lugar de Amigos, a place we want to share with you and invite you to enjoy it, so that you can understand our life philosophy, such as we did, that simple things, enjoyed with our families, are the ones that generate happiness, provides us with peace and makes us truly free.
